Wine Picnic

Wine Tasting Etiquette
Many small boutique wineries are family businesses. The odds are pretty good that you meet with a member of the family winery during a visit to a winery. During a visit to a wine tasting room consider yourself results. The owners and staff are proud of their facilities and wines. They want everyone to enjoy their visit. Expectations are different tasting rooms to wine festivals or in busy bars. After visiting 125 wineries in the past nine months and talk with guests and visitors of many wines, we have created a selection of ideas to consider when visiting a winery and vineyards.
The atmosphere in a winery tasting room is a subtle sophistication. Although shorts and sneakers are acceptable if the semi-dress clothing. No leave the basement of the gum. Goma to distort the taste of wine. heavy perfumes and aftershave not also allow you or others close to you to test wine effectively. The taste is strongly influenced by the sense of smell. outside voices are not appropriate. conversational tones are perfect and fit well with other wines talk, meeting the tastes and common interests.
Tasting rooms can be crowded on weekends. During the week tend to be slower and hosts wine have more time to talk about the wines you like. In both cases, if the tasting room is busy, not elbow their way to the tasting bar. The days of great influx, some schools will be established wineries tasting tables or bars outside the tasting room. Take your time in a basement. Relax and enjoy wine tastings the atmosphere of the tasting room. If taste is otherwise very active, one step back to analyze the wine with other people like you. This gives room for other steps to a tasting. Many wineries have gift selections to browse while tasting wines. Take your time and browse through the screens of tasting.
The representative Gourmet tasting in a particular order depending on the style wine. If you choose not to drink the wine that is good. Carefully cover your glass of wine with your fingers to indicate they do not want the taste of a wine. There is much more subtle than say, "I do not like wine." Not all wine drinkers, as all the wines and the hosts came to understand. The visitors do not have to tell everyone to not like a particular wine.
Another important thing is not true, choose a bottle and pour your own wine tasting. Let the wine consultant to make wine. Many wineries offer to sell you a glass of wine if you want more. If you ask to taste a wine for the second time is a courtesy to buy a bottle of wine.
To do with the wine in your glass that you liked? If you do not want to drink or try the rest of the wine in your glass, you can pour into a pin cube. It perfectly acceptable. It is also a good idea to spit the wine into the bucket. While the tastings are small, they add up after a series of tastings. If not sure spitting, practice at home. One often hears the practice in the shower.
Do you think the wineries are stingy when specifying crackers or small snacks of cheese? Remember that this is not your lunch. The purpose of biscuits, sauces or cheese is to cleanse the palate and to help decide how a pair wine with food. Some wineries have restaurants, so if you want to eat, visit the restaurant.
Would you like a picnic? Many wineries encourage visitors for a picnic. picnic tables and patio Fair are available. Ask in advance if you bring a picnic and picnic stop on the ground. Do not bring another producer of wine or other alcohol. The law restricts many wineries and vineyards are not allowed to have any liquor in their premises. Also, if you go home someone for dinner, it would be churlish to make its own entrance. Staff and visitors always appreciate good manners.
If you have the opportunity visit a vineyard, harvesting grapes only. If you want to taste a wine from grapes during the harvest, be sure to ask a staff member. One winery we visited this summer mentioned the way that visitors do not mind walking through the vineyards and taking pictures, but one day, a visitor left the vineyard with several clusters of grapes to ask what they were. Not dawn on him until one recalls that the owner has been made grape wine. The visitor tried to give the owner replied, "They not good. They are not ready to make wine. "
The best motto to follow in a winery or vineyard is the motto of the national parks, "Take pictures and hidden track. "When you visit a producer, if you like wine and want to buy what is great, but it is not necessary to buy a bottle of wine. Do not buy a bottle of wine, unless you like. Attend a wine tasting room can be fun for everyone.
